Sherwood Showdown- One Year Anniversary & Draw
WOW! I can’t believe that it’s been a whole year since the truck backed up and delivered 22 cases of games to us. People all over the world have purchased, played and enjoyed my little game- I have shipped games to so many countries, including Australia, China, Brazil, and Singapore. The rules have been translated into Korean and Spanish, and I’m told that German rules are also on their way.
Over the past year, a couple of rules questions have come up and been answered, mainly over on BGG, and one kind soul has even created and shared a thoughtful set of house rules, which totally look fun to try. I’ve also posted a 3 or 4 player variant here on this blog which has been well received.
To mark this anniversary, I’m going to have a giveaway. Up for grabs will be a copy of Sherwood Showdown, bundled with a copy of my newest game, Octopus’ Garden AND 1 Octopus’ Garden mini-expansion. International entries are welcome.

Here’s how to enter: Comment on this post to be entered once. Share this post on your blog and I’ll count the trackback as another entry. And, if you already own Sherwood Showdown, post a picture of the game being played on the Sherwood Showdown page on BoardGameGeek to earn 3 bonus entries. On July 9th I will close the contest sometime in the morning, and choose a winner using a yet-to-be determined random method.
*For those of you eyeing the shelves in the background, there are 5 other games by the Game Artisans of Canada. These guys rock!

I followed Daryl here. Haven’t played Sherwood Showdown before. Nice cover on Octopus’ Garden.
I WANT TO WIN! I WANT TO WIN! I love these competitive things!
Me please! :)
Would love to check out your game!
I’m in :) Fellow game maker and heard about this from Saxburg. I’m part of the TGC community (The Game Crafter). Best of luck!
We have both games, but would love to win them so we can add them to our online store and offer them at a discounted price to someone who doesn’t have them :)
Congrats on your success so far! I remember being interested in Sherwood Showdown when I first heard about it. Can’t believe it’s been a whole year!
Shamus Young made me do it! *crosses fingers*
Me Please!
I shall comment! These games look awesome :D
It’s worth a shot; what have I got to lose?
I’ve been looking all over for this game. I hope i can own it soonish… I can’t find a place in Quebec who sells it…
I’d love to play those! I’d love even more to play them for free! :D
Félicitations pour cet anniversaire!
Being a Canadian game,I was looking for the French rules… Oh well, couldn’t find them.
This looks really cool.
Winning is the best, waiting is alright too, I guess!!!
What are the games hidden behind the box in the picture? Always looking for some more treasures to play.
I think you’re seeing Alba Longa, by fellow Game Artisan Graeme Jahns, and Cuba. Also, my hard-won vintage copy of Escape from Colditz.
Francois, mon francais n’est pas aussi bon pour les traduire moi meme, mais si tu connais quel-qu’un qui peut le faire, je peut lui donner un copie du jeu pour gratuit. (pardon the very poor written french- I learned my french 25 years ago as an exchange student in 10th grade).
Congrats for your one year anniversary and thanks for the contest!
Just wandering by based on Shamus’ tweet.
If you are serious about it, I can translate the rules to French and Dutch for you :-) Belgian French, not Canadian French, but they’re more or less the same :-)
An-nyway, congratulations on the 1 year :-)
I am quite serious, as while Octopus’ Garden has the resources of a publishing firm behind it, Sherwood Showdown only has whatever I can wrangle, charm or trade for. Email me at the the addy on my contact page and we’ll talk more.
Happy Anniversary to you and thanks so much for the giveaway :)
I would love to enter, and would love to win a copy too!
